IRONWOOD GOLF COURSE
AMERICA'S BEST GOLF COURSES - IRONWOOD GOLF COURSE
By Ken Liebeskind
Ironwood Golf Course offers 27 holes of scenic and challenging golf in the rolling Kettle Morraine of eastern Wisconsin. The Callow, the Meath and the Birr are the three nine hole layouts on the Ironwood Golf Course. The Callow features elevation changes and a variety of dog leg holes. The Meath includes a drivable par 4 and two challenging par 5s with some of the most beautiful tee box views on the course. Birr means "Water Place" with water coming into play on every hole, plus a variety of blind shots and changes in terrain and elevation.
Two signature holes on the Birr at the Ironwood Golf Course include the 3rd, a 525 yard water lined par 5 that narrows to the slim green, which is protected on both sides by water with a small landing area; and the 7th, a 466 yard sloping par 4 that plays into prevailing winds that make it even longer. One golfer called the Birr "the nicest golf course in Wisconsin, challenging but also a lot of fun to play."

The 3rd hole on the Callow at the Ironwood Golf Course is a 569 yard par 5 dotted with traps, a large one that can catch long drives and numerous bunkers along the fairway plus two protecting the green.
The 6th hole on the Meath at the Ironwood Golf Course is a 547 yard par 5 where trees, sand, elevation, length and water all come into play. It's a double dogleg that winds right before a sharp left turn to the putting surface.
If you're looking for a great driver to play the long par 5 holes at Ironwood Golf Course, check out the Controller 460cc Driver from www.scientificgolfclubs.com. The max size club head is accentuated with an armor piercing coating made from M70 metal that was once used on military missiles. The club head is twice as hard as steel and 70 percent harder than titanium, which adds 20 to 40 yards to the drives of average golfers and prompted a long ball champ to state it's the best driver he's used in more than 20 years of hitting booming drives.
The Controller 460cc Driver comes with a 45 1/2 inch 69-gram high-fiber graphite shaft that's easy to swing, yet carries the power of the max size coated club head to provide extra distance you can't get with any other club.
